Happy Juneteenth! Come move and sing with Sayon Camera, a master djembefola performer of the traditional Malinke. Sayon will move you with Guinean cultural music, engage you in song, dance and story. His teaching and performances will give you the music of his people, directly from the heart of Guinea, West Africa, leaving you with the richness of his traditional culture, inner joy and a sense of well being.
Juneteenth is a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Juneteenth has become the most well-known celebration for the ending of slavery in the United States and viewed by some as America’s second Independence Day.
There is no other like Sayon Camara! A djembefola as straight and true as the clear sounds he produces on the djembe drum.
