David Wiesner Artist Event: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words In-Person
Join us to celebrate the newest addition to the Keene Public Library art collection - a limited edition print of an illustration by David Wiesner titled The Book Tree, generously donated by Ken Dessau.
A picture is worth a thousand words. David Wiesner took that to heart when he created his first wordless picture book, Free Fall, for which he received the Caldecott Honor. But that was just the beginning. Since then, Wiesner has written and illustrated 13 picture books including two more Caldecott-Medal winners and three more that received Caldecott Honors. He is one of the best loved and highly acclaimed picture book creators in the world.
Come spend some time looking though the many books by David Wiesner in our collection and try your hand at creating your own picture that is worth a thousand words. Light snacks will be served.
